This week's T-shirt derby is "Fall Colors", and in it I've designed a shirt showing how trees at this time of year look like they're on fire. You can see the full design here, and if you like it, I hope you'll vote.

Woot T-shirt Derby Time Again
Once again, it's time for the Woot T-shirt Derby. A few weeks ago, I decided to quit --- for reasons best not gotten into --- but a week later, I decided to un-quit --- because I was inspired by the theme. This week's theme is Physics and one of my favorite aspects of physics is how it applies to the game of pool. And I thought a couple images from pool would make a good T-shirt. So, I came up with this:

Woot T-shirt Derby -- City
This week's Woot T-shirt Derby theme is The City, and I'm pretty sure Sex In would be grounds for rejection. Instead, I started thinking about what I connect to cities, and that's the hustle and bustle. Of course, skylines and tall buildings, too, but that's a little too generic.
If you like what you see and the detailed pictures below, please click here and vote! Thanks.
I originally wanted the design to be much busier than this, with lots of traffic signs and billboards and a big "Open All Night" in neon, but ... aside from needing to stick to 6 colors and not having a good neon available, there comes a point where a design gets too busy. I would have easily exceeded that point.
Some details:
Washington DC's capitol building and part of the Golden Gate Bridge:
A statue of ... George Washington? ... and part of City Hall in Philadelphia:
A city traffic cop who could be almost anywhere, but is also based on the Philadelphia police:
A dinosaur skeleton from a Natural History Museum (or ... THE Natural History Museum, which is in DC):
One of those new big league "neighborhood" ballparks that could be anywhere, but this one is based on Philadelphia:

Woot T-shirt Derby --- again
Yes, it's another week and time for another Woot T-shirt derby entry. This week's theme is "Devolution", as in the devolution of humanity. So I chose to take this opportunity to mock the current trend of protesters who have no idea what they're protesting about, the mobs who rally behind seemingly any idiot with a soap box.
But wait, there's more. This Woot T-shirt Derby is brought to you by ........... the band Devo, who's first album in forever (seemingly) is titled "Devolution". Coincidence? Um ... that would be a no. But the Devo sponsorship explains why the protesters depicted have decided to beat each other up in the name of Peace and Love in front of a giant Devo Hat.
If you like my interpretation of Devolution, you can vote for it by clicking here, or on the image directly below.

Job Search T-shirt Test Drive
Ah, another week, another Shirt Woot T-shirt Derby. This week's theme is The Interview Shirt. Fortunately (so to speak) other people who are designing Woot shirts have very different interview experiences than I have. In the actual shirt design, the button on the right side of the chest says "I'm Brilliant". I hope you like it and vote. You can see the actual shirt and vote for it by clicking here.

This Week's Woot Shirt Derby
Another week, another T-shirt design.
The theme this week is Intergalactic Cup, a riff off the World Cup. I took blatant advantage of the fact that they're never that strict about theme, to make this. I hope people like it and vote for it.

Super Hero T-shirt
So, this week's Woot T-shirt derby theme is Golden-Age and Silver-Age comics. I thought the idea was to produce something complete with all those annoying visible dots from the 40's through 70's (really through at least the mid-80's until printing got a whole lot better) and sound effects.
So, I got this idea:
A well-meaning but not really knowing what he's doing super-hero is battling an evil armor-clad master-mind when he uses his heat vision to melt the armor. But the armor-clad villain ducks and the super-hero sets fire to the entire city instead. He sulks off in shame. I hope you enjoy, and you can click on the image above to go to Woot and vote.

Woot T-shirt Derby Time Again
Another week, another set of Woot T-shirt designs. I tried a bit this week to capture a sense of what people are voting for and to make things that are wearable.
The theme this week is luck.

Latest WOOT T-shirt Design
I'm starting to feel like I need to rename this LJ's Woot Blog, but ...
My latest WOOT derby T-shirt design:
The theme for the week is "New Vintage" and since everyone else was talking tie-dye and disco, I decided to go a bit further back. I think I captured the style of advertising from the late 19th century pretty well. And I think the slogan is a nice parody of those 80s and 90s bumper stickers. If you like it and can, PLEASE vote.

Woot Shirt Derby #133 - Chinese Zodia
So, the theme for this week's Woot Shirt Derby is the Chinese Zodiac. I started with the idea of using all the characters from the zodiac, but wanted something a bit more original. Then thought, "What if I merged them all?" Then I started sketching and this is what I got:
But I didn't like the monkey face. Now, on further review, a big reason I didn't like the monkey face was that it was a full-face when the rest of the creature was in profile, but I decided to swap a few features around: switch the dog legs with the bunny ears, then cycle the pig tail, monkey face and rat snout, and the final result is here:

Here is my latest T-shirt design at shirt.woot.com:
The theme this week was "palindromes". I chose "Regal Lager" because I thought it would make a decent T-shirt beyond the whole "the theme was palindromes so I had to do something that reads the same backwards as forwards" issue.
My best design thumbnails (so far):

Woot T-shirt Derby
I have recently discovered the WOOT T-shirt Derby at shirt.woot.com, where I can design a T-shirt to fit their theme-of-the-week and submit it. If my shirt wins the derby, they actually sell it!
The first derby I entered as come and gone, but you can vote for my latest T-shirt design:My designs so far (in thumbnail form):
